“ENLIGHT KANAZAWA” combines the Japanese concept of en (縁), meaning human connection, with “enlight,” representing discovery and new perspectives. It reflects the idea that travel is not only about places, but about the people you meet and the moments you share.

Your Tour Guide

Hi, I’m Daniel. Originally from Northern Ireland, I now call Kanazawa home. I’m a local tour guide with years of experience leading visitors through Kenrokuen Garden, the Geisha Districts, the Samurai District, Kanazawa Castle, Omicho Fish Market, and many of the city’s shrines and temples.

I studied Theology at Queen’s University Belfast, focusing on World Religions, and later completed a postgraduate degree in Education. I’m also a qualified Special Educational Needs (SEN) teacher, which helps me explain history and culture in a clear, patient, and accessible way for all kinds of travelers.

What I enjoy most is helping people understand not just what they are seeing, but the stories, people, and everyday life behind it.

Outside of guiding, I enjoy Xbox, the NHL (Let’s Go Bruins), Star Wars, audiobooks, and travelling whenever I get the chance.
